Whats Stronger Sisal or Seagrass Carpet

seagrass carpetIf you’ve been shopping for carpet that is absolutely the strongest carpet there is on the market, perhaps you need something for a busy hallway, or you need an outdoor mat that will last for a long time, then you may have run into sisal or seagrass carpet in your searching. Both of these plant fibers are stronger than any standard home carpet, and both will suit your needs perfectly. They have different aesthetics, making them better suited in different areas, however.

You may have never heard of sisal carpet before, and that’s quite alright. Sisal is a material from southern Mexico, and it is almost as fine as regular thread, so it can be made into a very convincing carpet. Don’t be fooled though, this is probably the single strongest material you can get carpet made out of. Sisal is resistant to any staining or dyeing, thanks to its dense fiber, so it almost always comes in a neutral tan color. If you need carpet that will withstand a multitude of footprints, this is exactly what you are looking for.

The other option you have is seagrass carpet. Now this is just as strong really, but it has a different look to it. Seagrass is an underwater weed from eastern Asia, and it’s much thicker in size than sisal is. So it has more of a hand-woven aesthetic to it, something that suits a rug on a wooden floor or just outside the door better than it would as carpeting for an entire house. It’s just as tough and will resist just as much as sisal though.

Either one of these carpetings will work, and though they are more expensive than traditional carpeting, they do their job well. Choose your look and design, and go for it – you won’t regret making the purchase.
