During the first stage, which is the attack stage, you are strictly prohibited from consuming other food types except for those that are rich in protein if you want to learn how to lose weight. Unlike Atkins, heavy butter, cream and fats need to be avoided in Dukan. While following the attack stage, you can only consume lean fish, meat, lobster, chicken, shrimp, beef and ham. You may also add herbs into your dishes to make it tastier but make sure to avoid using artificial flavorings.

Doing the cruise phase, dairy products and foods with high fat are excluded from your meals. You may consume eggs but if you are suffering from cholesterol problems, you may disregard the yolk to avoid any issues. Egg whites are great sources of lean protein and can be enjoyed during the attack phase and even throughout the diet program. Take note that fat elimination is crucial during the first and second stages of Dukan.

When you have reached the cruise stage, you can now extend your food list and add vegetables into your meals. This should be done alternately, along with high protein foods, and you have to do this until you have obtained your desired weight. The consolidation phase is also a crucial stage on the Dukan diet. The duration of this stage usually depends on the pounds that you have lost during the first two stages. This is considered as a healthy method of losing fat and preserving it so that you will not have a hard times struggling for a period of time. The consolidation stage is when you can include the foods you enjoy eating into your diet. The main goal here is to maintain the body you achieved by following the attack and the cruise stages.

With Dukan’s stabilization stage, you will be instructed regarding the foods that you will be consuming. You may consume all types of foods for 6 days, leaving one day as your protein day. This is the only day of the week when you will be required to consume foods that are rich in protein alone. This is to make sure that you eliminate the fats you have gained during the rest of the week. With the Dukan diet menu, it will be a lot easier for you to plan your meals in order to lose weight. However, if you are suffering from a certain medical condition, make sure to consult your physician first before deciding to opt for this type of diet plan.
